Our tour continues at the famous Cinque Terre (Five lands) situated beautifully along the Italian Riviera. These five stony, picturesque villages perched on the edge of the Mediterranean Sea will present us with an idyllic and tranquil respite during our Italian escape. Stroll with us along the Via dell'amore (Lover's Lane) or continue on to some of the more challenging trails. Other forest hiking may be on the tinerary, or you may choose to relax and gaze out to sea along the Riviera's rocky, dramatic coastline.
We conclude our Italian odyssey in Turin, discovering the region of Italy that invented the Slow Food movement - the impetus toward foods that are not only locally grown and organic, but also encompassing recipes that are crafted by artisans with a respect and pride for the tradition as well as the subtlest flavor of the dish. We'll sample the flavors and sights of Turin's sprawling Eataly market - a showcase of the best of Italy's slow food cuisine. From a myriad of wines and cheeses to exotic grains to freshy grilled fish or meats to an exquisite cappuccino to an artisan gelato (ice cream) and more - Eataly is the Italian tribute to the luscious pleasures of the palate.
